The intention of Yin Yoga is to improve the health of the connective tissue, especially around the joints. To do this we apply gentle physical stress to the targeted area with controlled stretching. The poses are on the floor & are held up to five minutes in duration. Props can be used as needed.
Yin Yoga is appropriate for beginners and all levels of students. It's the perfect compliment to Original Hot Yoga, Inferno Hot Pilates, and Hot 26 Plus! The Yin to the Yang! It is fantastic for deep stretching to the hips, shoulders, and spine. Yin Yoga is a quiet and relaxing class, in a non-heated room. We begin class with a breathing exercise and end class with a restful meditation. Yin Yoga classes on our schedule are 75-minutes long, including a 10-minute final rest. We play soothing music during these classes for you to enjoy, and each Yin Yoga Instructor brings their own special vibe to class. Please bring a yoga mat, blanket, blocks, cushions, or bolsters, if you'd like. The studio also has props to share - however, these are first-come first-serve. Arriving to class early will ensure you are able to utilize these shared props. |
